FR. STANISLAW JAN GERGONT, SVD

AWARD: CROCE PRO ECCLESIA ET PONTIFICE.

 

Rev. Fr. Stanislaw Jan Gergont, SVD, is a Polish priest from Krowniki, Poland. On September 1, 1982, he entered the Divine Word Missionaries Seminary in Poland. He made his first religious vows on September 8, 1983 in Nysa Poland and was ordained a priest on April 30, 1989 in Pieniezno Poland.

Fr. Stanislaw is an ardent priest belonging to the Divine Word Missionary Congregation. From July 1989 to July 1991, he worked at the Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Pieniezno. Since his arrival in Ghana on October 1992, he has been very instrumental in the work of evangelization in the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani. Currently, he is the Religious with the longest service to the Christ Faithful in the Diocese of Sunyani. From July 1993 to October 2006, he worked at the St. Joseph Parish in Kintampo. From November 2006 till date, he has been working at the St. Michael Parish in Nsawkaw-Banda. He is a member of the Priests Senate

 



 REV. FR. MARTINO CORAZZIN (OFM Conv.)

AWARD: CROCE PRO ECCLESIA ET PONTIFICE
Rev. Fr. Martino Corazzin (OFM Conv.) is a Franciscan priest who was born on March 1, 1948, in Mosnigo di Moriago della Battaglia (Treviso – Italy). He is the third born of the six children from his parents. He is currently the Pastor of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, SSNIT FLATS, Elmina.

 

Rev. Fr. Martino Corazzin (OFM Conv.) is an ardent priest belonging to Religious Congregation of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual. He had his First Religious Profession on September 22, 1966 and his Final Religious Profession on October 4, 1969. He has been a very dedicated, faithful and committed member of his Congregation since his priestly ordination on April 6, 1974. He is an outstanding priest and a role model for Pastors and Administrators of churches.

 

SR. VICTORIA TAKYI-NYARKO, HHCJ

AWARD: CROCE PRO ECCLESIA ET PONTIFICE

Sr. Victoria Takyi-Nyarko originates from Wenchi. She is currently the Headmistress of the St. Mary’s Preparatory and Junior High School, located near the Sunyani Airport, in the Bono Region of Ghana.

Sr. Victoria Takyi-Nyarko is a member of the Congregation of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus. She had her First Religious Vow on September 7, 1986 and her Final Vow on September 8, 1992. She has been a faithful and committed member of her Congregation.

Since her Final Vow, she has served in numerous responsible positions her Congregation and the Diocese, such as,

SR. AGATHA IFENKWE, HHCJ

AWARD: CROCE PRO ECCLESIA ET PONTIFICE

Sr. Agatha Ifenkwe, HHCJ, hails from Umudike in the Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria. A dedicated member of the Congregation of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus (HHCJ). Currently, she serves as the Directress of Pre-

Novices for the Congregation of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word (SVI). She is a community- oriented individual who values learning from others and believes in the power of generosity and mutual respect. Her commitment to her religious vocation and her community is evident through her various roles and responsibilities.

Deeply spiritual, Sr. Agatha has dedicated her life and work to the service of God and humanity. She made her First Religious Profession of Vows on October 7, 2000, and her Perpetual Profession of VowsonOctober2,2006.Herunwaveringservice to the Church and society underscores her strong spiritual commitment.

Her contributions to the Church are profound, reflecting her dedication to nurturing and guiding young women in their spiritual journeys. Since 2008, she has served as the Formator for the Pre- Novitiate of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word in Sunyani, guiding young women desiring to join the religious life and accompanying them in

their discernment process. She also trains young women undergoing the initial formation process and mentors professed Sisters, helping them grow in their spiritual and communal lives. As a community builder, she sees the community as a place of growth where talents are unearthed and friendships fostered. She encourages mutual respect, trust, support, and self-reliance.

Sr. Agatha has made significant contributions to the society through her educational and community service roles. She served as Assistant Head Teacher and Head Teacher at Asafo Catholic Junior High School and Madonna Preparatory School (JHS) in Berekum. Prior to this, she was a teacher at the Pacelli School for the Blind and Partially Sighted in Lagos, Nigeria,

She is a member of the Global IOD Network (GIODN). She is an Associate Counsellor with the Ghana National Association of Certificated Counsellors (GNACC), providing essential support and guidance within the community as well as consultancy services for individuals and Institutions.

Sr. Agatha enjoys engaging in handiwork, finding joy and fulfillment in the end products, and teaching others to apply their learnings in life. Her life and work exemplify resilience, hard work, and an unwavering dedication to both Church and society. She continuously seeks opportunities for growth and learning. This drive for improvement and exploration is an indispensable part of her inspired and dedicated life.

SISTER FLORENCE BADU, HHCJ

AWARD: CROCE PRO ECCLESIA ET PONTIFICE

Sister Florence Badu, HHCJ comes from Mim, in the Ahafo Region of Ghana. She belongs to the Congregation of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus (HHCJ).

Sister Florence is a member of the Congregation of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus. She

had her First Religious Vow on September 15, 2001 and her Final Vow on September 15, 2007

Mr. Herbert Kojo Abeka is a lecturer at the Sun- yani Technical University located in the city of Sunyani in the Bono Region of Ghana.

Mr. Herbert Kojo Abeka is committed Catholic married to Mrs. Felicity A. Abeka, also a Catholic. They are blessed with three (3) children, name- ly, Keziah, Kellyanne and Kayden Abeka. He is an active member of the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Greenhill – Sunyani. He is a member of the Knights and Ladies of St. John’s Internation- al. He is a Member of the Divine Mercy Catholic Church Pastoral Council.

He has served in many responsible positions in the Church such as First Vice President of the 10th District Commandery, Sunyani – Knights of St. John International (KSJI) and President Knight of St. John International (KSJI), Sacred Heart Com- mandery #757, Penkwase. He is currently the 10th District Commander (KSJI).

MR. EMMANUEL TAA-AMOAKO

Mr. Emmanuel Taah-Amoako is currently the Administrator of the Glory KinderCare Learning Complex located in Sunyani with its annex at Fiapre in the Bono Region of Ghana.

Mr. Emmanuel Taah-Amoako is a devoted and stanch Catholic married to Mrs. Francisca Edem Taah-Amoako, also a very devoted Catholic for the past 11 years. They are blessed with three (3) children. He is born to Mr. Francis Taah-Amoako and Mrs. Agatha Taah-Amoako, all parishioners at Our Lady of Charity Catholic Church, Berlin Top. They have been very instrumental in his growth and faith formation. He is the fifth of six siblings. He is a very active member of the Christ the King Cathedral Parish, Sunyani and a long serving member of the Parish Pastoral Council for the past 15 years serving in various capacities. He is a devoted member of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall. He serves in numerous responsible positions in the Church and widely uses social media platforms in the work of evangelization. He as well supports the weekly Radio Evangelization programs in various ways.

HIS LORDSHIP JUSTICE ERIC ANKOMAH ANSAH

AWARD: KNIGHT OF THE ORDER OF ST. GREGORY THE GREAT

His Lordship, Justice Eric Ankomah Ansah was a Private Legal Practitioner between 2002 and 2022, until he was appointed as Justice of the High Court, by the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo in July 2022. He is currently stationed in Tamale, where he sits in High Court Two (2) as a judge.

His Lordship Justice Eric Ankomah Ansah was born into a Catholic home of P. K. Ansah and Mrs. Monica Konadu Ansah of blessed memory on 22nd July 1974. He is a staunch Catholic married to Ms. Ophelia Obiri Boahen. They are blessed with Four (4) children. He is an active member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Baakoniaba – Sunyani. He is a devoted member of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall. He has served in many re- sponsible positions in the Church including being the former President of the Corpus Christ Catho- lic Church Pastoral Council and the Grand Knight of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall Council 29 (2018-2019) and currently Deputy Regional Grand Knight of Sunyani Region.

MRS. GEORGINA BENNETT (DAME)

AWARD: KNIGHT OF THE ORDER OF ST. GREGORY THE GREAT

Mrs. Georgina Bennett is a devout Catholic and an astute entrepreneur of national repute. Mrs. Georgina Bennett entered the then Sunyani Technical institute as student in 1976 and pursued a program in Catering (City and Guilds of London). She successfully completed her program in 1978. Upon completing the Sunyani Technical Institute

(SUTECH) in 1979, she started working as a caterer at Kumasi Technical in 1978. In 1979, she moved to Duayaw Nkwanta Secondary School, as the school’s Matron.

After marriage, she joined the husband to operate a Chemical (Drug) Store. They later added a Hardware business, and eventually opened Eusbett Hotel in 1998, where she became the first Manager

of the hotel. The hotel started with only 18 rooms but has through sound managerial leadership with Mrs. Georgina Bennett as Executive Director developed organically into a 200-guestroom facility, and still counting.

Eusbett Hotel is probably the only up-market hotel that is owned and managed fully by Ghanaians, with Mrs. Georgina Bennett as Executive Director and Co-founder. Together with her husband, they have other business interests in construction, farming, petroleum products and automobiles.

Mrs. Georgina Bennett is a family woman. She is happily married to Sir Knight Samuel Owusu Bennett, also a staunch Catholic. They are blessed with 7 children. Amongst them are two sets of twins. He and his family worship at the Christ the King Cathedral, Sunyani.

Mrs. Georgina Bennett is a very devoted and committed Catholic. He is an active member of the Christ the Cathedral, Sunyani. She is a dedicated member of the Knights and Ladies of St. John International. She has served in many responsible positions such as Former President of Commandry 393, Knights of St. John International (K&LSJI).
